Stranger Parks
I was once again asked to design the invitation and overall campaign for the Olmsted Parks Conservancy biggest fundraiser of the year, the annual Boo La La masquerade ball. After presenting multiple themes to the client they chose to pay homage to the then popular Stranger Things on Netflix.
Using a detailed and layered illustrative style as the main focus, I then built invitations and social media content around that. Presenting the notion of the iconic upside down as well as utilizing the immediately recognizable ITC Benguiat typeface was easy. But to really capture what made the show itself so popular meant dabbling into our own nostalgia for the ’80s. Towards that end there are eight movie easter eggs within the illustration (four on each side, top/bottom). Scroll to the bottom to see what they are.
